Developing our people is critical to our strategy and fostering our culture of empowerment.

A Brief Overview

The US LBM Senior Engineer – Platform is responsible for building and maintaining scalable engineering systems that support the software development lifecycle across the enterprise. This role turns engineering standards into repeatable automation through Azure DevOps configuration, shared CI/CD pipeline templates, standards-conformance checks, developer tooling, and program metrics that improve delivery quality, visibility, security, and developer experience.

What you will do

  • Configure and maintain Azure DevOps repositories, branch policies, pull request templates, required checks, security settings, service connections, and variable groups using configuration-as-code practices.
  • Design and maintain shared YAML pipeline templates for build, test, container publishing, infrastructure validation, security scanning, deployment, and operational readiness.
  • Develop standards-conformance CI checks that convert engineering standards into automated validation, including schema validation, infrastructure-as-code linting, dependency scanning, secrets scanning, and semantic checks where appropriate.
  • Build and support program metrics pipelines that extract data from Azure DevOps Analytics and REST APIs, transform it into usable models, and publish dashboards and scorecards for technology leaders.
  • Treat AI-assisted development configuration as governed, versioned artifacts, including coding assistant rules, workspace instructions, and related developer workflow configuration.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, platform engineering, DevOps, security, and software engineering teams to ensure standards are practical, scalable, secure, and consistently adopted.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, alerts, and knowledge base content to support adoption, operations, and long-term maintainability.

Required For All Jobs

  • Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Adhere to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
  • Participate in and complete assigned trainings.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

Experience Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in platform engineering, developer experience, DevOps, engineering systems, software delivery, or related technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including Pipelines, Repos, Boards, Artifacts, Analytics, branch policies, service connections, and YAML-based pipeline development.
  • Experience managing repository and developer tooling configuration at scale using Terraform, Azure DevOps REST APIs, CLI tooling, or comparable automation approaches.
  • Experience building or maintaining metrics pipelines from engineering systems into a warehouse, BI layer, or executive reporting environment.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD controls, quality gates, code scanning, secrets scanning, policy checks, or standards-conformance automation.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and secure engineering practices, including Azure services, managed identities, Key Vault, logging, monitoring, and operational runbooks.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and practical governance approaches for using them safely within a software delivery lifecycle preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, YAML, repository governance, and automation-first delivery practices.
  • Ability to translate engineering standards into reusable templates, automated checks, clear documentation, and measurable adoption practices.
  • Strong scripting or software development skills in languages such as Python, C#, TypeScript, or PowerShell.
  • Working knowledge of cloud engineering, infrastructure-as-code, security-by-default practices, monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness.
  • Ability to build and maintain reliable data pipelines, metrics models, and dashboards that support engineering and executive decision-making.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across architecture, platform, security, DevOps, and engineering teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document standards, explain technical decisions, and support adoption across teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong ownership, attention to detail, and a bias toward repeatable, scalable solutions.
