Reports to: US Principal and US Assistant Principal
Work Year: 10 months
Position Focus:
The ideal candidate will collaborate with administration to design and deliver engaging elective courses aligned with student interests and school priorities.
An Upper School Instructor will pursue and support the vision, mission, and core values of Cambridge Christian School. An Upper School Instructor will work with the Upper School Principal, Upper School Assistant Principal, Department Head, and teachers within their department to partner with parents in the training of all upper school students as Kingdom Educators.

- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.

Position Parameters
Instructional Responsibilities
General:
- Assist and monitor any school improvement plans pertaining to their department.
- Attend Open Houses, Parent Night, and Graduation.
- Proctor mid-term and final exams as requested by administration.
- Comply with the discipline procedures outlined in the handbook.
- Comply with procedures outlined in the employee handbook, including teacher dress, request for time off, no social media interaction with students, and sexual ethics.
- Enter daily attendance for every period.
- Establish office hours for the department and communicate with students and families.
- Monitor departmental compliance with all NILD and academic accommodation policies as outlined by Guidance and NILD therapist, including tracking of extra time for eligible students.
- Participate in J-Term as a lead or support for experiential learning experiences and trips.
Instructional Leadership:
- Enter homework weekly by Friday or no later than Monday of each week.
- Enter grades weekly into FACTS and complete all grades prior to the end of each quarter.
- Establish grading distribution and weights as directed by department head and monitor weekly.
- Participate in and enter upcoming tests and long-term projects into the US test and project calendar.
- Uphold and comply with department philosophy for homework, missing or make-up work, rigor, and project management.
- Create a course syllabus prior to the start of the school year and seek approval from the department head. All syllabus information must align with handbook policies.
- Send communication to parents within the first weeks of school. Maintain open communication throughout the year regarding course highlights, projects, trips, student opportunities, and office hours.
- Communicate immediately with parents and students regarding failing grades and student performance and document all communications.
- Provide Biblical integration in subject areas.
Curricular Leadership:
- Attend required professional development offerings provided by CCS.
- Create or update curricular maps for each course through Curriculum Trak.
- Create or update lesson plans weekly. All lesson plans must be posted in Curriculum Trak within the corresponding curricular map and will be monitored by US Administration.
- Submit semester and final exams to the department head prior to established deadlines.
- Assist the department head in adapting new curriculum.
- Assist with coordination of curricular resources including previewing new curriculum, tracking and ordering resources, and overseeing student access.
- Inventory physical curricular resources and distribute accordingly.
- Professional Development:
- Attend required professional development offerings provided by CCS.
- Stay current with educational practices and attend conferences and workshops as made available by the department head and Principals.
- Monitor and maintain teacher certification status.
School Culture:
- Participate in weekly teacher devotions.
- Lead an advisory group and assist with class events as assigned.
- Attend chapel services with assigned advisory group.
- Attend divisional, departmental, and pre and post planning meetings as directed by administration.
- Demonstrate support for the school by attending school events including fine arts events, sporting events, Baccalaureate, academic events, and marketing or fundraising events.
