This role is based in our Fort Lauderdale office.

If you’re ready to take your editorial career to new heights and create content that resonates with an elite and discerning audience, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Editorial ownership of BOAT International US: You will curate, shape and edit the contents of the monthly magazine. You will act as gatekeeper and champion of the US publication, using your expertise to ensure it serves its readership. You’ll adapt content from BOAT International to better suit the American market, as well as commission or write US-specific content where necessary. You’ll also work with designers and subs from issue start to finish, ensuring features and layouts meet the highest standards.

  • Feature planning: You will stay on top of superyacht news and trends, support the Superyachts Editor and wider editorial team with identifying and securing features on the most exclusive new superyachts and interesting owners. You will feed relationships, ideas, tips and intel through to the editorial team, making connections and facilitating features, and writing if you have capacity.

  • Management of BOAT International US: You will liaise with the London HQ regularly, as well as address and solve any issues related to the good functioning of the US publication. You will also manage the US Editorial budget.

  • Relationship building and representation: You will represent BOAT US at boat shows, trade shows and BOAT events; cultivating and strengthening relationships with key editorial and commercial stakeholders, both in the US and internationally. Engage with existing contacts while identifying and building connections with new partners to support the company’s growth and influence. Develop strategic plans to enhance collaboration and expand the publication’s network within the luxury and superyacht industries.

  • Event integration: You will collaborate with the editorial team on content planning and delivery of marquee events such as the Superyacht Design Festival, Explorer Yachts Summit and Ocean Talks.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional journalistic skills: Outstanding longform writing, excellent editing an eye for a story, and plenty of carefully-honed feature ideas.

  • Proven experience: A demonstrated expertise in feature writing, editing and the management of copy in an editorial environment.

  • Motivation: An enthusiastic self-starter who will put up their hand, develop ideas, own tasks and act independently.

  • Organisation and detail focus: Excellent organisational abilities, high standards, a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Creative and commercial balance: Ability to align editorial content with brand objectives.

  • Industry knowledge: An understanding of luxury lifestyle is important, as is enthusiasm for learning about the superyacht industry.

  • Multiplatform expertise: Comfort working across various formats, including print, digital, and video is a plus (although you will be primarily working on print).
