TheManager – US CustomsOperationscan be based in Gaithersburg, MD or Wilmington, DE. In this role, you willbe responsible forsupporting day-to-day import/export customs activity,improving customs processes,leadingcertaincompliance activities,developing new FTZs,operatingexisting FTZs, and encourage FTZ Sites to remain in compliance with Customs and Border Protection.
What you will do:
Responsible for operational management of AstraZeneca US Import/Export activities
Provide customs guidance to cross-functional business partners
Lead issue resolution and handle direct communication with various government agencies and key stakeholders.
Handle the daily/yearly operation of the zone including admissions to Customs, T&Es, HMF, zone to zone transfers, FTZ board report, payments to the grantee,being the subject matter expert on trade related activities for the site,etc.
Support the role out of new AstraZeneca FTZ(s) and the development and implementation of operational standards, procedures, and training vital to support a compliant FTZ while developing andmaintainingworking relationships with global counterparts to ensuretimely, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations across the global supply chain
Support AstraZeneca FTZ manufacturing sites, conduct tours, and training, host Customs for annual compliance reviews, and be an FTZ representative on on-site projects and strategic initiatives
Develop positive relationships with all participating sites, international cross-functional teams, Customs Broker and Customs and Border Protection
Revitalize a standard operating procedure for all FTZs to use including customs broker clearance, FTZ inventory system, record retention processes, and training.
Essentials:
Bachelor’s Degreerequired
Minimum of five years’ experience in one or more of the following: Customs Brokerage or import/export operations or compliance.
Working knowledge of the various government agencies and regulations involved with the import/export of pharmaceutical products such as CBP, FDA, USDA,CDC,DEA, DOT,IATA, andFWS
Preferred
Customs Broker License
FTZ Experience
