We are hiring Uro - Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist into a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Job Title: Uro - Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist Department: Cancer service Location: On-site, Dublin, Ireland Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: Competitive Salary Responsibilities Provide highly specialised nursing care to patients with urological cancer throughout diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and survivorship. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans in collaboration with the patient, family and multidisciplinary team. Act as a specialist clinical resource, providing expert advice and support to patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals across the urology and oncology services. Coordinate patient care pathways effectively, liaising with urology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless continuity of care. Independently review patients, interpret specialist clinical information, arrange appropriate investigations and make clinical management decisions within agreed protocols and scope of practice. Provide sensitive communication, counselling and psychological support to patients and families, including discussions around diagnosis, disease progression, treatment options and complex or distressing information. Support patients in making informed decisions by advocating for their preferences, values, dignity, privacy and individual care needs throughout their treatment journey. Deliver specialist education, training and clinical supervision to nurses, healthcare professionals, patients, families and carers, promoting evidence-based practice and self-management. Participate in clinical audit, research and data collection, using findings and evidence to improve patient outcomes, service quality and compliance with relevant cancer care standards. Provide clinical leadership and consultancy within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of guidelines, protocols, care pathways, service improvements and high-quality uro-oncology services. Requirements NMBI-registered General Nurse in good standing, with a relevant postgraduate qualification in Clinical Practice with a focus on Urology, or currently working towards the qualification. Minimum of five years’ post-registration nursing experience, including three to five years’ experience caring for patients within a Urology setting and relevant Oncology experience. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously within the scope of professional practice, applying sound clinical judgement, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Possess strong teaching, leadership and knowledge-sharing abilities, with the capacity to support the development of colleagues and share specialist knowledge in Urology nursing. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, multidisciplinary teams, consultants, senior nursing staff and hospital management. Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, while demonstrating leadership, initiative, innovation, flexibility and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, adapt quickly to change, identify and manage risks, and maintain a high standard of quality and patient safety.
