Urgent Care Veterinarian (DVM) – Inver Grove Heights, MN

A veterinary hospital is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian (DVM) to join its multi-disciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to manage non-emergent but time-sensitive cases in a collaborative environment with access to specialty and emergency support. This position is ideal for veterinarians with general practice or urgent care experience who want to expand their clinical skills while maintaining a balanced and sustainable schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage urgent care cases, including same-day appointments and walk-ins
  • Perform physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Stabilize and treat acute but non-critical conditions
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as imaging and in-house laboratory equipment
  • Collaborate with specialists and emergency clinicians for comprehensive patient care
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented hospital culture

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active or eligible veterinary license
  • Experience in general practice or urgent care preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Interest in collaborative, multi-disciplinary medicine
