
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team in Thornton, Colorado
This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy variety, autonomy, and collaboration in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Providers at NextCare practice with a high level of independence while also having access to strong clinical support, including experienced onsite teams, streamlined workflows, and accessible medical leadership—so you can focus on what matters most: high-quality patient care.
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
Code and bill services appropriately
Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
Active, unrestricted Colorado license (PA or NP)
Board certification as applicable:
PA: NCCPA certification
NP: ANCC or AANP certification (FNP required)
Active DEA (or ability to obtain)
Ability to treat all age groups (infant through geriatric)
Active BLS certification
EHR proficiency
Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)
Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
Strong procedural skills (ex: suturing, splinting, wound care)
Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
