
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our Alice, Texas clinic. This is a full-time opportunity in a fast-paced urgent care setting, ideal for a provider who enjoys caring for patients of all ages and delivering high-quality, efficient care.
Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with urgent care and occupational health best practices
Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care aligned with NextCare’s mission and values
Diagnose conditions and clearly communicate treatment plans and next steps
Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
Ensure appropriate coding and billing for services rendered
Maintain clinical productivity consistent with peers and industry standards
Practice medicine in a legal, ethical, and professional manner
Follow up on patient care as clinically indicated
Full-time providers typically work three 12-hour shifts per week
Schedules are built in advance to support work-life balance and clinic coverage
Rotating weekends and holidays based on clinic needs
Active and unrestricted Texas PA or NP license
Active DEA registration
NCCPA certification (Physician Assistant) or ANCC/AANP certification (Nurse Practitioner)
Nurse Practitioners must be certified to treat all age groups (ex: Family Nurse Practitioner)
Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or Master’s degree in Nursing (NP)
Active BLS certification
Comfortable treating patients of all ages (pediatric to geriatric)
Strong EHR proficiency
DOT certification may be required (training provided at no cost if needed)
Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays
At least 1 year of urgent care, ER fast-track, or walk-in clinic experience
Comfort with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiologist over-read
Strong procedural skills (suturing and minor procedures)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
