Required Qualifications:
· International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certification
· Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in urban forestry, arboriculture, or municipal forestry
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
· Demonstrated knowledge of municipal urban forestry bylaws, policies, and regulatory frameworks
Assets:
· Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) or Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in good standing
· Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) or Registered Biology Technologist (RBTech)
· Parks Danger Tree Assessor (DTA) certification
· Occupational First Aid certification
· Project management experience and/or crew leadership skills
· Experience working with local governments, First Nations, or public agencies
Key Competencies & Skills:
· Proven ability to exercise sound professional judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in complex or sensitive situations
· Strong working knowledge of urban tree risk management, tree protection bylaws, and best management practices
· Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships with clients, municipal staff, contractors, regulators, and the public
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· High level of organization, attention to detail, and professional accountability
Responsibilities:
· Conduct urban forest and arboricultural assessments, inspections, and reporting
· Provide professional recommendations consistent with municipal bylaws, industry standards, and professional codes of conduct
· Support and contribute to business development initiatives related to urban forestry and arboricultural services
· Liaise with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders to support project delivery and long-term relationships
· Assist with project planning, implementation, and quality assurance of urban forestry activities
· Be willing and able to work in camp-based settings as required
· Demonstrate flexibility to support and work within other departments at SNRG as needed (particularly biology or silviculture), particularly during periods when urban forestry workload does not fully occupy available time
Compensation: $29.00 – $45.00 Per hour – Dependent on experience
