Urban Designer
Dubai, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Urban Designer to join our team! In this role you will contribute to a variety of urban development and masterplanning projects that help shape the future of our cities.
What You'll Be Doing:
Perform research, analysis and design development tasks within project teams.
Develop diagrams, drawings, reports, presentations and visual materials.
Develop technical inputs to support planning studies at local, regional, and strategic level.
Support the preparation of urban design and masterplanning packages across multiple design stages (Pre-Concept, Concept and Detailed Masterplan).
Collaborate with internal disciplines to support the development of integrated design solutions.
Assist in ensuring project outputs comply with local planning policies, development regulations and international best practices.
Participate in internal design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of design quality.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture or closely related field.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in urban design or urban planning consultancy.
Experience contributing to masterplanning studies, conceptual layouts and urban design proposals.
Understanding of urban design principles and planning frameworks.
Strong graphic, analytical and presentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in design and visualization tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino or similar platforms.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Master’s degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture or related discipline.
Professional accreditation such as AICP, RTPI, RIBA or equivalent
Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating a proactive approach and a strong sense of ownership on project tasks
