Under the general supervision of the Upstate Training & Exercise Director and the general programmatic guidance of the State's Healthcare Preparedness Program Director within Healthcare Quality, serves as the Upstate Hospital Preparedness Program Coordinator for an eleven (11) county service area.

  • Provide support to Area Healthcare Coalition plans development, sustainment, and maintenance through Technical Assistance and Programmatic Review to assure compliance with state and federal program requirements and grant guidelines.

  • Support Healthcare Coalition grant and financial development, sustainment, and maintenance through Technical Assistance and Programmatic Review.

  • Support community-based healthcare preparedness through outreach, coordination, education, and training.

  • Support community-based healthcare response operations by assisting with the development, maintenance, and sustainment of a deployable asset readiness report.

  • As directed, satisfactorily completes other duties as may be assigned by Program Manager or Section Director, which may be outside of the service area and which may be local or statewide in scope.

Examples of duties

Minimum Requirements A bachelor's degree and experience in emergency planning, operational planning, public health management, or other related work experience.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.

Qualifications

A minimum of three (3) years of public health preparedness program and/or hospital preparedness experience, to include: coalition development, grant/budget management, plan and standard operating procedure development, as well as exercise design and evaluation.

Recent (within past five (5) years) completion of IS100, 120.c, 130.a, 200, 700, 800; G191; AWR-900, 923-W; and PER 211. All must be completed per agency policy timeline for courses outlined in policy, or within one (1) year of assignment for courses not specifically outlined in agency policy.
