Job Title:Upper School Substitute Teacher
Job Status: Part-Time, As-Needed
Reports to:Upper School Director
New Roads School is seeking a part-time Upper school substitute teacher to cover courses for specified periods when the regular teacher is unavailable. The substitute teacher is a part-time temporary employee that is called on an as-need basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Substitute Teachers will ensure the continuation of the instructional program in the absence of the regular teacher, following the regular teacher's lesson plans
Maintain a professional attitude in the classroom
Experience working in various schools
Ability to communicate with a diverse audience
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university required
Passion for education and prior teaching experience with 9th-12th grades
Desire and ability to work effectively with colleagues
Enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude
Ability to provide supervision and follow instructions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong classroom management skills

The hourly rate for this part-time role is $25 per hour.
