Latin School of Chicago has an anticipated need for a full-time faculty member to teach Math in the Upper School beginning in Fall 2026.

Latin School of Chicago seeks a creative and innovative Upper School Mathematics Teacher who is passionate about mathematics and connecting with and supporting students. Strong candidates will be well-versed in mathematical content Algebra 1 - Calculus, and have a demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 4 classes per semester
  • Serve as advisor to 8-10 students
  • Attend department meetings, division meetings, and all-school faculty/staff meetings
  • Develop and lead an experiential learning Project Week (second week of March)
  • Work closely with department members, department chair, and division director to design lesson plans and curriculum that is aligned and responsive to student needs
  • Write written narratives two times per year
  • Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Attend and supervise students during assemblies, gatherings, and other school functions

  • Sponsoring student clubs, activities, or coaching sports
  • Sponsoring student independent study projects or senior projects
  • Participating in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and other professional development opportunities

Compensation:

  • Salary is $64,622 - $114,967 annually, based on education level and years of experience as outlined in our Faculty Scale

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years teaching experience at the high school level
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses (Algebra 1 - Calculus) or electives
  • Commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.
  • Critical thinking and reflection skills to assess and improve existing processes
  • Strong communication skills, including spoken and written communication
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
  • Comfort integrating technology into the classroom and in lessons
  • Curating materials in a Course Management System.
  • An enthusiasm for spending time with students in and outside of the classroom
