of Position

The school seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Applied Design and Technology Instructor who is engaged in the community and dedicated to carrying out the mission of the school. This position is a full-time, 10-month faculty position starting in August of 2026. The hired employee will report to the Dean of STEM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support faculty in use of the Design Studio innovation space within a broad range of curricular areas
  • Build a reputation for excellence and leadership in innovative education at St. Michael’s Catholic Preparatory School
  • Work collaboratively with academic leadership and faculty to maximize use of the Design Studio and other Hub for Advanced Learning Opportunity (HALO) spaces
  • Work collaboratively with communications, admissions and development teams
  • Support faculty professional development related to innovation across the curriculum and use of the HALO space
  • Support faculty engagement in the development of cross-curricular projects
  • Conduct professional development for faculty in support of innovation across the curriculum
  • Teach a minimum of one class section at the upper school level
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Upper School or Dean of STEM

Requirements

Required Experience, Degree and Skills:

  • Exceptional organization, classroom management, time management and prioritization skills
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree with prior years of experience, and an advanced degree is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Successful candidates will have significant experience with technology, 3-D printing, instructional coaching, and maker spaces.
