Are you a senior commercial leader with the ability to open doors, build trust with healthcare decision-makers and turn strategic customer insight into measurable business growth?

On behalf of Becton Dickinson, Haeger&Carlsson Executive Search is recruting a Senior Business Development Director to strengthen its strategic customer engagement across the Nordic healthcare market. This is a visible and business-critical role with a clear mandate to identify, shape and develop growth opportunities across BD’s broad portfolio.

In this brand new role, you will work closely with Nordic leadership and business unit teams to build strong partnerships with selected healthcare accounts. You will engage with senior stakeholders in hospitals, healthcare regions and procurement organisations, understand their priorities, and help position BD as a broader partner to healthcare systems.

We are looking for a senior commercial profile with experience from business development, strategic account management, key account leadership or complex B2B sales — preferably within healthcare, MedTech, life science or another environment with long decision cycles and multiple stakeholders. You are proactive, structured and commercially driven, with the ability to create momentum, work through influence and align different stakeholders around common opportunities.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate is expected to be proactive, structured and able to create momentum in a large organisation. The role requires a highly senior person who can work independently, influence without formal authority and collaborate effectively across business units and functions.

The candidate should bring:

  • Significant experience from business development, strategic account management, key account leadership or senior commercial roles in healthcare, MedTech, life science or another complex B2B environment.

  • Proven ability to identify, shape and convert business opportunities with large, complex customers and senior decision-makers.

  • Good understanding of public healthcare systems, preferably in the Nordics, including procurement dynamics, stakeholder complexity and decision-making structures.

  • Experience working across functions or business units, with the ability to align stakeholders around common commercial objectives without relying on formal authority.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, combined with pace, execution discipline and the ability to translate insight into concrete commercial action.

  • Familiarity with lean, continuous improvement, commercial excellence or structured problem-solving methodologies, with the ability to apply them pragmatically in a customer-facing commercial environment.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and preferably in a Nordic language.

The position reports to the General Manager Nordics and Baltics. This role is also part of the Nordic leadership team and will work to regularly present business opportunities, progress and strategic initiatives.

The role is based in Sweden, preferably Stockholm, and covers the Nordic market.
