Hall Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical facility located in the Gaylord, MI area. We provide compassionate care for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets, hamsters, and rabbits. Our dedicated veterinary team is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our community's cherished pets.

Position Purpose

Associate Veterinarian

Hall Veterinary Clinic | Gaylord, MI

Compensation: $115K-$130K

Sign-on Bonus: Up to $50K

You’ll be supported by a dedicated team including 3 veterinary assistants and a collaborative doctor group, with an additional experienced DVM rejoining the clinic soon.

  • 30-minute appointments for both wellness and sick visits
  • 13–15 patients per day
  • Time to connect with clients and practice medicine the way you were trained

Schedule That Supports Your Life

  • Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No weekends
  • No on-call

The Medicine

  • Small animal + pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, hamsters)
  • Preventative care, internal medicine, and general surgery
  • Opportunity to help shape and grow services—especially ultrasound capabilities

Who You Are

  • DVM (or equivalent), licensed or eligible in Michigan
  • Passionate about patient care and client relationships
  • Open to mentorship and continuous learning
  • Someone who values being part of a kind, collaborative team

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
