UNT Dining Services is home to Mean Greens Café, the nation’s first 100% vegan collegiate dining hall, and Kitchen West, Texas’ first and only university dining hall certified Free From™ the Big 8 food allergens and gluten. In 2021, UNT introduced Eagle Landing, the university’s first standalone dining hall, inspired by urban food halls and featuring seven distinct restaurant concepts—all available for a single Meal Plan swipe.

The Retail Food Service Specialist – Chick-fil-A is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Chick-fil-A location within UNT Retail Dining Services. This position assists with food preparation, order assembly, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Team members ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently upheld while providing fast, friendly, and accurate service to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
The Retail Food Service Specialist works collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient operations during high-volume service periods, restock supplies, and support inventory management as needed. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while representing both UNT Dining Services and the Chick-fil-A brand through outstanding hospitality and service.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to maintain records and complete forms accurately. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to complete tasks. Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils. Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service and necessary precautionary measures. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
