Job Description

This student employee will support the creation of compelling content that highlights students, research, academic programs, the campus community and other university stories.

The role focuses on helping the communications and strategic content team with its storytelling, writing and content development across a range of platforms. Responsibilities may include researching and gathering information, conducting interviews, writing stories, formatting content for the web, and contributing to communications materials for digital, print, and web channels. Limited clerical and administrative support may also be required, but the primary focus of the position will be on storytelling, content creation, and editorial work.

The salary for this position is $14 per hour.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Interest in writing, storytelling, journalism, or communications

  • Desire to learn new skills

  • Proficiency with Google Suite

  • Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, engaging content

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Drupal

  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop/InDesign

  • Photography, video, or multimedia storytelling experience

  • Familiarity with AP style
