Job Description

One of the primary goals of the position is to be the front line responder to phone and email event inquiries, to coordinate event site visits, to answer questions about calendar availability and venues and to keep the calendar and social media channels up-to-date. In addition, this student plays an important role in planning/managing various activities for the office of University Farm. Critical component of the position is to assist in the planning and execution of the Farm Harvest Festival each year in October. Additional duties include administrative support and office management tasks such as communicating with Farm vendors, coordinating transportation booking, inventorying office stock, etc.

Duties will include:

  • Returning emails and phone calls
  • Keeping online calendars up to date
  • Keeping social media channels updated
  • Marketing Farm events and workshops
  • Basic office administrative duties
  • Sending out online calendar invitations
  • Helping with event registration and setup
  • Other duties as assigned

Hourly Pay Rate: $12.22/hour
Federal Work-Study eligible preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

  • Current CWRU student
  • Previous special event coordination experience or an administrative assistant job, or equivalent experience required
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours during the workweek, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, 10 - 15 hours per week. 1/3 of the hours may be done remotely.
  • Some early evening or Saturday in-person work may be required for onsite special event help
  • Must be willing to occasionally be outside at the Farm in a variety of weather conditions
  • Preference for students with a valid driver's license and a willingness to become CWRU driver training certified (through EHS) to drive Farm vehicles on occasion
  • Must be able to work independently, as a part of a team, and pay careful attention to directions and details
  • Excellent customer service mentality, written and verbal communication skills
