Job Description

1. Answers telephone calls in a professional manner, takes messages and/or routs them appropriately.
2. Direct visitors in a professional manner.
3. Provide support to the care givers in the department i.e. C.N.A., RN, LPN, Physicians, Director.
4. Ensures routine and state diagnostic results are promptly retrieved from fax/printer and viewed by a nurse as appropriate.
5. Initiates charts for admission, transfers, and discharge ensuring medical record documents are appropriately labeled.
6. Enter patient information into the hospital computer, i.e. admissions information, physician orders, ad other relevant data.
7. Maintains a clean, well-supplied, organized nurse’s station, ensuring supplies are unpacked and packed in the organized supply room.
8. Assist with staffing needs under the direction of the Director and/or RN and communicates patient care assignments by posting these assignments each shift.
9. Organizes and updates bulletin boards/binders with call schedules memos, and education calendars as appropriate.
10. Recognize various patient care alarms (i.e. bed alarms, IV pumps, Pulse Ox, etc.) and notify appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
11. Notify appropriate nursing personnel of patient requests promptly.
12. Ensures patient call lights and telemetry monitoring is not left unattended at any time.
13. Routinely inventories and orders as appropriate medical /clerical supplies along with patient nourishments for the department as required.
14. Make patients feel welcomed, as applicable verify additional information as needed.
15. Any other duties assigned as needed to help drive our Mission and abide by our organizations values.
