Requisition Summary

Direct team members of a large manufacturing area to attain the maximum product quality and customer satisfaction.

Successful candidate must be willing to work multiple shifts, i.e., day, evening, and/or night, as needed.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Direct team members of a large manufacturing area to attain the maximum product quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Supports the training, motivation and safety of High Performance Work Team members and representatives.
  • Distributes work assignments to team members/representatives in accordance with the production objectives.
  • Responsible for meeting daily production goals, including safety, quality, scrap, labor efficiency, housekeeping.
  • Initiates personnel actions including performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures, etc., in accordance with PEC values, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Prepares meaningful reports/analysis for management.
  • Lead and partcipate in process improvement efforts such as: PPS which includes 5S, effective corrective actions for repetitive quality issues, PQI initiatives, line damage audits, scrap reduction teams, gatekeeper program, defects per unit (DPU) reduction, Kaizen events, and outsourcing opportunities.
  • Supports new production implementations.
  • Engages associates in goals, continuous improvements, projects, etc.
  • Utilizes industrial maintenance knowledge to ensure maintenance personnel are working in a safe and effective manner.
  • Plans and implements complex maintenance tasks based on CMMS data as well as equipment condition, which may be during non-production windows.
  • Implements, supports, and schedules preventative and predictive maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability
  • Coordinates outside vendors as well as other support departments in order to achieve maintenance department goals, some of which are during non-production windows.
  • Reacts to customer requests for out-of-service equipment in a manner that results in minimum downtime.
  • Reacts to changing conditions in real time to ensure the technicians, vendors, or other support staff are completing the correct actions to ensure the most efficient production recovery possible without impacting safety or quality.
  • Develop & complete plans for regularly serviced production equipment such as gas train systems, conveyors, hoists, testing equipment, etc.
  • Participates in sourcing, quoting, ordering, etc. equipment replacement or spare parts as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

  • B.S. degree required.
  • 3-5 years manufacturing maintenance experience in a team environment.
  • 1-2 years maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt trained preferred.
  • Flexibility to work any shift required.
  • Possess data driven problem solving skills with the ability to function equally well as a team leader.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required; SAP, and typical CMMS applications required.
  • Ability to work during non-production times which may include holidays, weekends, nights, etc.
  • Proficient in technical drawings including mechanical (GD&T), hydraulic & pneumatic, and electrical.
  • Possess a strong general knowledge of electricity and industrial electrical systems as it relates to safety and production equipment.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of industrial maintenance concepts / devices such as LOTO, rigging & lifting, mechanical assemblies, hot work, fall protection, testing equipment, powered industrial trucks, PLC’s, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, robotics, precision measurements, etc
