Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the care of Residents through collaboration with other departments.
  • Communicates with families regarding the Resident's plan of care and any changes in the condition of the Resident.
  • Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of needs and current developments.
  • Evaluates rotation of staff and adjusts section assignments as needed.
  • Promotes positive public relations for the nursing unit and department.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly meetings and educating staff on new policies relating to the nursing department.
  • Oversees the implementation of new policies and procedures and periodically reviews current procedures, working in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development as needed.
  • Directs volunteers assigned to the unit with the assistance of the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse License

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • BSN
