General Statement of Duties:

The Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of their assigned nursing unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care. This role providers leadership and guidance to nursing team members, coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members, and ensures compliance with all applicable clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight of an assigned nursing unit to ensure high-quality resident care and compliance with clinical standards.
  • Supervise, support, and provide direction to nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and STNAs.
  • Monitor resident care to ensure it is delivered in accordance with physician orders, individualized care plans, facility policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assess resident conditions, identify changes in health status, and ensure appropriate interventions and physician notifications occur in a timely manner.
  • Participate in QAPI initiatives and support efforts to improve clinical outcomes and resident satisfaction.
  • Address resident and family questions or concerns in a professional and timely manner, promoting positive relationships and communication.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new nursing staff on unit procedures, documentation expectations, and resident care practices.
  • Maintain survey readiness by ensuring adherence to federal, state, and organizational regulations and standards of practice.

Job Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio preferred.
  • Active LPN license in the state of Ohio required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a senior-living environment required.
  • Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Current CPR certification is preferred.

  • Flexibility for other tasks and duties as assigned.
