
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering is seeking a motivated Unit Human Resources Coordinator to join its team. The Unit Human Resources Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting departmental operations by coordinating hiring and onboarding, administering personnel processes, and providing guidance on human resources policies, procedures, and practices. The position supports employment activities for faculty, academic staff, support staff, graduate assistants, temporary employees, and student employees.
Working closely with faculty, staff, students, supervisors, and college partners, the successful candidate will help foster a collaborative and service-oriented environment that supports employee success and operational effectiveness. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, careful attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to interpret policies and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Provides coordination and administrative support for faculty and academic staff hiring activities.
Provides support for departmental human resources operations and personnel-related processes.
Provides administrative support for student and temporary employment processes.
Provides operational and administrative support for departmental HR-related activities and communications.
Performs additional duties that align with the role and classification.
This position may offer the potential for a hybrid work arrangement that combines in-office and remote work. The specific arrangement will be determined by the supervisor based on departmental priorities and operational needs.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, public administration, or a related social science field; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
