Job Description

Hours: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM M - F

Accountable for accurate procedure scheduling, collection of pertinent patient demographic information, printing and distribution of the schedule and the securing of appointments with supporting service departments. Demonstrates very good communication skills with physicians and their office staff.

Professional Standards

  1. Schedule procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
  2. Review schedules daily and coordinate with perioperative business office and endoscopy shift coordinator any changes that need made.
  3. Communicate with shift coordinator when special circumstances arise.
  4. Provide clerical support when needed.
  5. Communicate positively as a representative of our units when talking with physician offices.
  6. Follow all relevant specialty, federal requirements, and hospital policies and procedures, when caring for the patient and performing other tasks.
  7. Participate in unit and hospital wide Performance Improvement activities.
  8. Always be an advocate for your patients, families and coworkers.
  9. Maintain a healthy work environment.
  10. Be a representative of Good Samaritan within the community.
  11. Be responsible for your FTE hours.
  12. Maintain financial responsibility in helping to stay within the unit's budget.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

  1. Other duties as assigned.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and medical terminology course.
