
Position Title: Unexploded Ordnance Safety Officer (UXOSO)

Manage MEC site safety and health program under the auspice of the MEC (UXO) Health and Safety Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementing and enforce all requirements of the Project Work Plan, Accident Prevention Plan and Site Safety and Health Plan. Monitor all aspects of the UXO Clearance activities. Ensure compliance with CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER and CFR 1910.1200 HAZCOM requirements, as well as state and local environmental safety and environmental requirements. Ensure compliance with federal and state blasting/demolition requirements. Perform risk hazardous analysis and risk assessment of all UXO clearance tasks. Develop and review standard operating procedures, engineering controls, administrative controls, and work practices to ensure safe UXO operations are conducted. Ensure public safety. Provide all OSHA safety training to on-site employees and sub-contractor personnel. Observe and evaluate safety performance during field operations on a daily basis. Conduct daily safety inspections, weekly safety audits and maintain all safety forms and logs. Investigate all close calls and accidents. Conduct daily safety briefings for all site employees and sub-contractors. Interact with Environet Safety Manager on a routine basis. Perform First aid and CPR training to the work force to keep employee qualifications current.
