Job Description

A well-established multinational company in the insurance sector: Underwriting Supervisor (MidCorp Property & Engineering)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee underwriting activities across Property and Engineering insurance lines, ensuring consistent evaluation and management of risks
  • Review and assess underwriting decisions within delegated authority levels and support the handling of complex or non-standard cases
  • Ensure underwriting practices are aligned with internal policies, pricing principles, and operational standards
  • Monitor underwriting quality and maintain accurate and consistent documentation standards
  • Support, guide, and mentor underwriting team members in their day-to-day activities and professional development
  • Encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Assist in workload coordination and contribute to the efficient management of underwriting operations
  • Monitor portfolio performance, profitability, and exposure across assigned business lines
  • Identify market developments, underwriting trends, and areas for portfolio optimization
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support risk assessment, portfolio analysis, and business planning activities
  • Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to support client servicing, renewals, and business development initiatives
  • Maintain effective relationships with brokers, intermediaries, and business partners
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, internal procedures, and governance requirements
  • Support reporting activities related to underwriting operations and portfolio performance
  • Contribute to initiatives that promote sound risk management and sustainable business practices

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering, Economics, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in commercial insurance underwriting, particularly within Property and/or Engineering business lines
  • Prior exposure to complex risk assessment and portfolio management will be considered beneficial
  • Experience working within corporate or mid-market insurance environments is preferred
  • Solid understanding of underwriting methodologies, policy structures, and market practices
  • Comfortable using underwriting platforms, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Commercially minded with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent command of Greek and English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative and fast-paced environment
