About the Role

As an Underwriting Specialist in our team, your role will serve as a vital link between our team and our customers, actively engaging with them to provide updates and address any concerns regarding their applications. Apart from that, you will also encompass assessing and approving new business applications in line with our company's service standards, underwriting guidelines, and delegated authority.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

Human Assist

  • Proactively contact customers through multiple channels (phone calls, WhatsApp, email, etc.) to guide them through the underwriting process and ensure clear, timely communication.

  • Handle and resolve customer queries related to their applications and health declarations promptly and professionally.


Case Underwriting

  • Perform thorough risk assessments on individual new business applications in strict accordance with the company’s underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, service standards, and personal authority limits.

Customer Experience Enhancement

  • During customer interactions, identify and implement opportunities to improve the underwriting experience

Roughly, the composition of your task will be as follows:

  • Handle customer's underwriting enquiry - 60%

  • Underwriting assessment - 30%

  • Customer experience enhancement - 10%

About you

You are a compassionate, patient, detail-minded individual with:

  • At least 2 years of customer service (call centre) experience in Medical/ Health insurance

  • Bilingual Fluency (Read/Write/Speak) in Chinese (Cantonese) and English

  • Score 6 or above in IELTS Academic test

  • Satisfy all academic requirement for insurance intermediary licensing in Hong Kong

And, the following qualifications are preferred but not essential
  • Prior experience in medical underwriting

  • Education background in nursing, allied health or related discipline

  • Fluency in Mandarim

  • Passed IIQE Paper I & III
