Requirements

The role forms part of the Underwriting Operations function within the Bratislava Centre of Excellence. On a day-to-day basis the work allocation and functional reporting line will be into the Technical Operations Manager responsible for management of the Underwriting Controls capability.
 
Your Tasks:
  • Coordinate the Proportional Treaty statement process, ensuring accurate booking of claims and premiums within company system
  • Monitor, track and chase the receipt of Proportional Treaty statements
  • Investigate and resolve booked vs accounted premium variances
  • Advise data entry teams on process for entry of complex &/or unique endorsements or contract adjustments
  • Support internal & external by providing evidence of controls and ensuring all operations align with regulatory standards and internal underwriting guidelines
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and underwriting policies to reflect current best practices
  • Ensure all operational activities meet or exceed agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Identify opportunities to automate or enhance underwriting control processes
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects as needed across Underwriting Operations
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation or process enhancements to reduce manual intervention and strengthen the control environment
 
Personality requirements and skills
 
  • Relevant (re)insurance industry experience, specifically within the Underwriting Community
  • Strong understanding of insurance documentation, slips, wordings, and varied (re)insurance structures
  • Ability to analyse bordereaux and treaty statements and liaise with brokers, cover holders and third parties
  • Excellent computer literacy with a particular focus on data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, including brokers, underwriters, and third-party partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience building and maintaining positive working relationships

Nice to have:
 
  • Experience with numerous lines of commercial insurance and reinsurance
  • Possesses a continuous improvement mindset evidenced through a qualification such as Lean Six Sigma or similar
  • Data profiling and root cause analysis skills
