The UAII must also maintain strong working relationships with Underwriting, Billing, Brokers, and other internal or external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform policy support and distribution tasks, including processing policy issuance, audits, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements for commercial Property lines of business.
  • Process rating requests accurately using rating systems and tools, applying appropriate rules, forms, and rates per state and line-of-business requirements.
  • Review transactions for accuracy and completeness prior to release, identifying and resolving discrepancies or escalating complex issues to underwriters as needed.
  • Maintain thorough and organized documentation to support compliance, audit readiness, and attestation controls, ensuring all required records are complete and retrievable.
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with internal partners (underwriters, claims, actuarial) and external stakeholders (agents, brokers, insureds) to resolve questions, obtain missing information, and support service-level expectations.
  • Apply, interpret, validate, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs); recommend updates when gaps or inefficiencies are identified.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and participate in root cause problem-solving exercises to streamline processes and reduce errors or cycle time.
  • Participate in team huddles, share knowledge and best practices with peers, and actively support the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and principles.
  • Monitor and manage personal workload against service-level agreements (SLAs) and production/quality standards, prioritizing tasks across multiple profit centers and business partners.
  • As requested, engage in self-development through training and learning opportunities, and provide guidance, mentoring, or training to new or less experienced team members and business partners.
  • As requested, participate in additional assignments, projects, or process pilots supporting broader underwriting operations initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Typically requires 1–3 years of Property insurance, underwriting support, or administrative experience; prior Property/commercial lines exposure preferred.

  • Proficiency with underwriting, policy issuance, and rating systems; strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage high transaction volumes under moderate supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, customer-service orientation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks across several profit centers simultaneously.
