Role Highlights

  • This is Toronto-based role with hybrid working opportunities

  • A varied, hands-on role that sits at the heart of underwriting operations, combining technical policy support, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.

  • The salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $75,000 CAD, depending on experience

The Opportunity:

This role plays a key part in supporting the Auto underwriting activity across the full policy lifecycle, from new business through to renewals, MTAs, and cancellations. You’ll work closely with underwriters, operations colleagues, and other internal stakeholders to ensure policies are managed accurately, processes run smoothly, and customers receive consistent and timely service. It’s an opportunity to build strong technical and operational knowledge while contributing to continuous improvement across the business.

Your New Role:

  • Support the full policy lifecycle, including new business, mid-term adjustments (MTAs), renewals, cancellations, and lapses.

  • Support the underwriting of new business, MTAs, and renewals in line with Governance Underwriting Standards and Product rules.

  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of distribution systems, processes, and ways of working.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance guidelines, policy wordings, and regulatory or product changes.

  • Provide underwriting customer service support to our intermediaries

  • Build effective working relationships and communicate clearly and timely with Operations team members and internal stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of best practices to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Participate in internal and external meetings to share knowledge, support strategy, and promote consistent practices.

  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and ongoing self-development.

About you:

  • Experience supporting underwriting activities across new business, MTAs, and renewals within an insurance environment, preferably knowledge of Canadian commercial fleet insurance coverage and endorsements.

  • Working knowledge of insurance policies, guidelines, and regulatory or product requirements.

  • Preferred experience with MS Office, Lineage & EPIC software programs

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable working with systems and processes, and keen to build and maintain technical knowledge.

  • Able to communicate clearly and build effective working relationships with a range of internal stakeholders.

  • Interested in continuous improvement, learning, and contributing to better ways of working.
