Job Description

Under direct supervision, learns the technical aspects of various Commercial auto tasks and other supporting responsibilities of an Underwriting Assistant.

This is a remote position. You will be required to go into the office twice a week if you reside within 50 miles of an office. Please note this policy is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter required data into various systems (Compass, NUALP, iUW, IDX, Policy View, Property Workstation, CCO, NMWB, @Work, Fleet Utility) to produce Commercial quotes, CNRs, Forms Comparison, Rate Override and Signed Doc tasks, utilizing critical thinking skills to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Develop expertise in identifying all necessary forms and materials related to Commercial auto tasks this department supports.
  • Serve as a reliable and dependable primary point of contact for offshore vendor support regarding all departmental tasks, consistently being available to promptly assist with vendor questions and needs.
  • Train offshore vendors on systems, workflows, and procedures, providing clear explanations of processes and ongoing support as required daily.
  • Collaborate regularly with other departments on complex transactions, respond to questions, conduct research, and resolve issues as needed.
  • Navigate and utilize Form Zilla and the Knowledge Center to process work independently.
  • Create and update procedures and job aids within the Knowledge Center to streamline workflows and improve ease of processing.
  • Utilize good judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond quickly and accurately when evaluating and executing processes.
  • Operate multiple systems simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-productivity environment, demonstrating strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Minimum one year of experience in the Commercial Auto line of business is required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience plus 1 to 2 years of insurance industry experience required.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
  • Ability to follow and refine detailed processing instructions.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and processing systems.
  • Solid customer service skills.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
