The Underpayment Analyst is responsible for investigating and resolving underpayments.
• Perform and validate discrepancy reason coding in the underpayment inventory.• Manage additional payments from payers for underpayment discrepancies through various means of communication, such as phone calls, online platforms, or payment package processes.• Overcome objections preventing claim payment.• Obtain payment commitment using concise, fact-based collection techniques.• Communicate trends to management as they are identified.• Facilitate correction of underpayment discrepancies not related to non-payment through I-Plan changes or by coordinating with other departments as needed.• Identify and communicate trends to management, including those appropriate for the dispute resolution process.• Escalate accounts to the appropriate individuals within the payer and through SSC management as needed, including accounts with untimely payer responses.• Apply effective documentation standards that support a solid history of actions taken on the account.• Meet the organization’s productivity and quality standards.• Complete and understand all educational requirements.• Practice and adhere to the philosophy of the “Code of Conduct” and the “Mission and Values Statement.”• Perform other assigned duties.
• English – Spanish (oral and written B2 or above).• High School Diploma.• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or Accounts Receivable (AR) roles.• Experience in process quality assurance (QA) roles is a plus.
