Installing underground cables for power transmission, power distribution, renewable energy and communication networks is a necessary step in hardening the electrical grid, delivering reliable communication networks, and integrating renewable energy into our existing systems. As a Groundman, your key responsibilities will be to support underground cable installation by using hand tools and equipment, maintain a safe and efficient job site, and assist crews with construction, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication and electrical distribution systems.

What it takes?

• 1-3 months of related construction, utility, or labor experience
• Ability to safely use hand tools and equipment for underground cable installation
• Demonstrates reliability, teamwork, and accountability on the jobsite
• Willingness to work under a union collective bargaining agreement
• A valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record
• Commercial Driver’s License (desired)
