Job Title: Underground Piping Foreman

Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Underground Construction Pipe Foreman will manage large public and private construction projects. The Foreman serves as a team leader and crew supervisor of workers to ensure that projects proceed smoothly. A foreman contributes the knowledge gained from education and work site experience to see to it that the crew is working safely and efficiently to complete projects on time.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in the installation and repair of underground piping systems.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Plan and schedule work assignments, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve technical issues and optimize workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce safety policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • OSHA 10 Certificate preferred: OSHA 30 preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Underground Construction Pipe Foreman
  • Ability to review and understand plan specs and drawings.
  • Strong/Advanced understanding of trench shoring systems and OSHA standards.
  • Strong/Advanced understanding of construction math
  • Strong/Advanced surveyor and lay out skills
  • Hydrostatic Test procedures
  • Strong/ Advanced understanding of excavation techniques
  • Able to record installed quantities
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a field environment.
  • Proficient in written and verbal business communications skills.
  • Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with office and field personnel.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Work long shifts with non-standard break times
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times.
  • Able to work in confined or enclosed spaces
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
  • Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more)
  • Able to Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground.
  • Able to sit in the operator’s seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals, switches, levers, buttons, etc. required to safely operate the equipment (if authorized for that piece of equipment).
  • Capable of sitting in the operator’s seat of equipment and have an adequate field of vision of all instruments, gauges, warning lights, as well as an acceptable field of vision out of the windows and/or mirrors (if authorized for that piece of equipment).
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
