Northern Star Resources currently has an exciting opportunity at our Thunderbox Operation for an Underground Manager to join the team. This position offers a balanced 8:6 roster and the chance to lead a dedicated underground workforce. Play a pivotal role in driving safe, efficient, and high‑performance mining outcomes.

Here’s what awaits you:

• Hold statutory duties and provide visible safety leadership, maintaining high safety standards and ensuring regulatory compliance, reporting and inspections.
• Develop and maintain effective operational systems, processes and controls, with clear accountabilities for mine design, planning and scheduling.
• Deliver strategic goals, identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives that maximise value and shareholder returns.
• Lead and coordinate underground mining operations, including technical, project and operational teams, to achieve safety, production and cost targets.
• Lead and manage operational teams, including mining contractors and/or Northern Star personnel, ensuring activities align with business strategy and targets.
• Support the General Manager and Mining Manager with statutory obligations and strategic priorities.
• Develop succession and talent management frameworks, with clear accountabilities and consistent performance management.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience:

Candidates should have technical and leadership experience in large scale underground mining operations, including contractor, project and people management. They should be decisive leaders with the ability to think critically, influence, communicate risks effectively, and deliver practical, value-driven plans.

Qualifications:

• WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
• Site Senior Executive Certificate of Competency.
