A part-time research position is available for a research group located in the Wolstein Research Building. The role will require 10-20 hours per week and involve working under the direction of lab staff to perform tasks involved in daily lab experiments including:
(1) real-time PCR
(2) western blotting
(3) cell culture
(4) animal colony maintenance.
Position will also require general lab maintenance tasks including:
(a)Dishwashing of lab glassware.
(b)Autoclaving (sterilizing) glassware and other equipment.
c)Preparing common use buffers and solutions.
(d)Disposing of lab biohazard and sharps materials (will receive appropriate safety training)
The applicant will be trained in general lab safety and handling of biohazardous material by the CWRU environmental health and safety department, and in lab specific tasks by multiple members of the research team. The position is flexible and can work around the applicant's coursework schedule.
Hourly wage is $13.44.
No work experience needed; Preference given to those currently pursuing a degree in the biological sciences.
