Plastics Unaccredited Registrar at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne

Applications are now open for Non-Accredited (Pre-SET or Prevocational) Plastic Surgery Registrar at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

You will gain exposure to a wide spectrum of reconstructive surgery including; breast, sarcoma, head and neck, skin malignancy, hand surgery and maxillofacial surgery. Clinical management of patients will be under the care and direction of the Directors of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in each unit.

You will be expected to:

  • Working closely with the SET trainees in each unit to successfully manage all inpatients and outpatients
  • Participating in the on-call roster as the Registrar
  • Assisting in teaching & mentoring the junior staff

Classifications for this position will range from HM25 – HM30 ($129,048.40 - $177,622.12) pro rata for part-time.

The St Vincent’s Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery unit is involved in all forms of reconstructive surgery and has a special interest in microsurgical techniques, head and neck, hand, breast reconstruction and oral-maxillo-facial surgery.

The team is at the forefront of developing new techniques and improving patient outcomes through our program of basic science research, particularly in the fields of Tissue Engineering, Angiogenesis, Matrix Biology, Peripheral Nerve Regeneration, Anti-fibrosis, and Ischaemia Reperfusion Injury.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
