It provides strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States’ priorities and efforts, building

Simultaneously, UN Women’s new Asia and the Pacific Regional Strategic Note for 2026-2029 will be rolled out, focusing on deepening investments in the areas of women’s leadership and good governance systems therein, women’s economic empowerment, ending violence against women and girls, and women, peace, security and humanitarian response, all with climate and statistics as cross cutting areas of support.
In this context, UN Women's contribution and support to ASEAN will be key in operationalizing the global and regional normative agreements which its Member States have adopted, the UN 2.0 and the UN Secretary-General's Gender Equality Acceleration Plan (GEAP), driving gender-transformative outcomes in Southeast Asia and beyond.
