In Indonesia UN Women develop some programmes to implement its mandates; i.e. Ending Violence against Women, Women’s Peace and Security, and Integrating Gender Equality into National and local policies and plans. Through its programme implementation, UN Women facilitates capacity building for both government and civil society organizations, produce knowledge products on women’s human rights that can be used as evidence-based advocacy tools. Throughout the implementation, UN Women engages with local and international resource persons to share international knowledge on the related issues as well as to bring out the local knowledge to international forum.
For effective communication and making information and materials accessible in local language, UN Women Indonesia is seeking qualified translator/interpreter for providing timely and high-quality translation/interpretation services from English into Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa and simultaneous translation for UN Women events in 2026-2029.
The consultant will report to the Communication Team and the broader UN Women Indonesia team, depending on the specific team to which they are assigned. The consultant will be supported by the assigned team member, who will serve as the point of contact for contract and payment matters.
Throughout the duration of the contract, the consultant is expected to perform the following indicative tasks:
events, meetings, workshops, conferences, field missions, and other events organized by UN Women Indonesia.
This is a home-based consultancy. As part of this assignment, the consultant might need to work on-site to provide interpretation for the event in Jakarta or if it is required outside duty station.
