Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The UN Women Multi-Country Office - Caribbean 2022 – 2026 programme; and envisaged 2027 – 2031 programme are aligned to the agency’s global 2026-2029 Strategic Plan with a focus on the four (4) Thematic areas most critical to women and girls; Women’s Leadership and Decision-making, Women’s Economic Empowerment in Resilient Economies and Women and Girls Free from Violence; and Women, Peace and Humanitarian Action. All the impact areas, like the SDGs, are interconnected and interrelated and these programmes will be implemented both at the regional and multi-country level. The UN Women MCO Caribbean covers 22 English and Dutch speaking countries and territories in the Caribbean and maintains a physical presence in five (5) countries, but there remains high and consistent demand for the exercise of UN Women’s integrated mandate across the 22 countries and territories across the region.
Reporting to the Head of Office a.i. the Monitoring and Reporting Consultant will provide support to the Multi Country Office (MCO) Caribbean colleagues in incorporating monitoring and reporting into programme formulation as well as tracking against Strategic Plan targets and the reporting of results to internal and external audiences
