Job Description

The Process Technician has direct involvement with daily maintenance, start-up, shut down and troubleshooting of the processes as well as related automation equipment.

The technician assists with setting up molds, machines, and all related auxiliary equipment to allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels. In addition, autonomous maintenance tasks will need to be performed daily which includes cleaning and inspections of various types of machines and equipment’s. Occasionally, this technician would assist with new mold samples and provide full documentation on all processing parameters, as well as be able to exercise the authority to quarantine suspect product.

Because the Process Technician has specialized knowledge and processing expertise, they must be willing to mentor and assist in training others. This position may also be called upon to assume supervisory responsibilities when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in stopping and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Demonstrate daily evidence of continuous improvement efforts of 5S and autonomous maintenance.
  • Treat quality as a key pillar of our success by always Doing the right thing for our customers.
  • Solve problems daily by working together as an engaged team member
  • Routine autonomous maintenance tasks of machines and equipment such as cleaning, inspections for leaks, broken, worn and missing parts, abnormal movement, vibrations, abnormal heat, unusual sounds, unusual smells and discoloration, verification of machine settings and greasing’s.
  • Monitor machine operations and process to prevent and correct equipment malfunctions
  • Perform mold changes, process setups and production start up’s
  • Support Supervisors with issues that may arise that directly impact OEE
  • Assist with sampling and qualify new molds.
  • Help in the relief of breaks as needed
  • Maintain records and documentation
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a technical role
  • Experience with standard hand tools
  • Ability to work independently demonstrating strong technical knowledge and good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Sound communication skills and excellent problem-solving ability
  • Possess skills required to improvise and adapt where needed

Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalency required.

Physical Requirement:

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base pay offered will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for additional benefits to the base pay range listed above.
