What You’ll Be Doing

You will:

• Officiate sporting games and competitions
• Make fair, unbiased decisions and enforce rules
• Anticipate play and maintain strong court positioning
• Signal infractions, regulate play and apply penalties
• Ensure games are safe and conducted professionally
• Inspect courts, equipment and participant readiness
• Manage disputes and escalate issues when required
• Set up and pack down equipment before and after games
• Keep accurate time and manage game flow
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of sport rules and By‑Laws
• Provide excellent customer service to all users

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone confident, fair and passionate about sport. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Level 1 umpiring or coaching accreditation (essential)
• Knowledge of relevant sport rules and regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in team environments
• Commitment to fair play and customer service
• Experience umpiring netball, basketball, futsal or similar sports
• Experience working with diverse groups (essential)
• Experience in recreation or leisure facilities (desirable)
• National Police Clearance (essential)
• First Aid Certificate (desirable)
