What You'll Do
Performs ultrasonic examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program
Clinical experience acquired through the completion of radiologic sciences program
ARDMS/CCI certified or graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by CHEA, USDOE or CMA that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology and eligible for registry; Current BLS or acquired within the first 7 days of employment; Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within 90 days of employment
Preferred Requirements
Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences program with a B.S .; Completion of advanced modality program(s)
Two years experience as a ultrasonographer in an acute care hospital setting
