
Prepares patients for procedures, assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures. Performs procedures with accuracy and thoroughness in a timely manner, adhering to the protocols outlined in the department's procedure manual upon the order of a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist.

Completion of Sonography Program Preferred
Experience:
3 years Medical Imaging - Sonographer Preferred
Certifications/Licensures:
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required
Currently credentialed with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, with a current RDMS license with subspecialty registries in Abdomen and OB/GYN, and current RVT license
BR Breast Certification - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Required at sites that perform Diagnostic Mammography , if performing diagnostic breast ultrasound – Must be obtained within 90 days of hire
OB/GYN - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Must be obtained within 90 days of hire
RVT Registered Vascular Technologist - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Must be btained within 90 days of hire, with the exception of new graduates, who must obtain their RVT license within 14 months
If the technologist is unable to comply in acquiring their missing sub-specialty license due to extenuating circumstances, one 90-day extension can be granted only at the discretion of the Medical Imaging Director
3+ years experience as a registered sonographer preferred
RVT highly preferred before hire
Work shift: Ability to help with night shift, PM and Days. Strong weekend availability needed and ability to help with call when needed.
