Shift:

  • Overnights- 8 hours
  • 8 hours on the weekend and during the week and holidays are 12 hours.
  • Every 8th weekend and 2 holidays a year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of all Ultrasound units, including portable units.

  • Acquire images for inpatients, outpatients, emergency room patients, and patients in intensive care units including neonatal ICU if applicable, which includes proper identification of patient, date and time, history, and labeling of images.

  • Ability to acquire ultrasound imaging for inpatients, outpatients, emergency room patients, and patients in intensive care units including neonatal ICU.

  • Ability to proficiently use and navigate through radiology information systems.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills in discussing cases with radiologists.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in assisting physicians during invasive procedures in the department, and intraoperative ultrasound guidance in the operating rooms.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide technologist’s tentative readings as needed.

  • Ensures adequate history of patient is obtained and documented, which includes completing appropriate measurement sheet pertaining to exam.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of two years’ JRC accredited ultrasound technology program.

  • An Equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be substituted in lieu of two year JRC accredited ultrasound technology program.

  • Minimum of an associate degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • ARDMS Registered within 1 year of hire - (AB) or (OB/GYN)
  • CPR Certification
  • Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

This position pays $41.15 to $56.58.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
