Performs ultrasound procedures at the entry level requiring knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology. Must be able to perform high quality ultrasound examination for interpretation by a physician on children, adolescents and adults.

Minimum Training and Education

Required Licensure, Certifications, RegistrationsCertification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible requiredIf not certified, must obtain certification within the first year of employment

Basic Life Supportrequiredupon hire. Thereafter, mustmaintaincurrent Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
