The Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations using specialized imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers. The technician prepares patients, operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, obtains appropriate images, documents findings, and follows established safety and patient-care standards. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following essential job functions:
May require standing and walking for 1-6 hours or sitting 1-7.5 hours at a time. May require lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds and pulling, pushing, repeated bending, manual dexterity and reaching above shoulder level are also required. Requires assisting patients on and off exam tables, assisting in safe patient transfer, and positioning of patients. Employees are required to utilize safe patient handling techniques as well as available patient mobility devices, as trained.
