We are looking for a dedicated Echo/Vascular Ultrasound Technologist like you to join our Lubbock Heart team.

What You Will do in this Role:

• Report to work station on time and as scheduled and remains at work station until relieved for lunch or end of shift.
• Position patients and adjusts equipment for each procedure.
• Instruct patient regarding procedures.
• Follow prescribed safety standards.
• Maintain examination rooms.
• Follow confidentiality standards.
• Participate in standby for modalities assigned and scheduled. When on-call paged, a prompt call is made to the hospital to determine the study to be done. Travel time to report in for the study will be kept within twenty-five (25) minutes
• Scrub uniforms, clean and pressed, will be worn at all times when on duty unless otherwise directed by the Radiology Director or designee.
• Completes all necessary forms for each study conducted and coordinates each study with the requesting physician or in their absence, follows instructions on the request form/transmission and checks each order against the physician’s order prior to beginning the exam.
• Check arm band on each patient for proper identification.
• Follow Lubbock Heart Hospital policies for time and attendance recording.
• Participate in quality improvement and quality control projects as assigned.
• Follow departmental policies and protocols for each exam performed.
• Maintain licensure and/or certification(s) for all modalities assigned.
• responsible for maintaining supplies in their assigned area and follows Lubbock Heart Hospital policies for ordering and gathering supplies.
• Participate in inventories of supplies as assigned.
• Report any mechanical or system problems to the Director or designee.
• Demonstrate initiative in their work habits while maintaining a professional demeanor with all hospital staff, guests, visitors, patients and physicians.
• Efficiently goes about all duties assigned and works toward maintaining budgetary goals.
• aware of incident occurrences within their work area and reports within twenty-four (24) hours to their supervisor using the proper form(s).
• Handle patient complaints in accordance with Lubbock Heart Hospital policy.
• Assist in the development of new CPT codes for the purpose of the Lubbock Heart Hospital and Department Charge Masters
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures within their assigned modalities.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Successfully completed an accredited course for national and/or state registry or has successfully gained licensure/certification(s) eligibility through experience.
• RDMS or RDCS registration is required for performing general ultrasound and echocardiograms without the direct supervision of a registered technologist.
• RVT is required to perform vascular studies without the direct supervision of a registered technologist.
• Maintain current BLS through AHA certification.

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, urology, and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms, 4 fully operating OR rooms, 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds spread over three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms.
