VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.
Qualifications
*Night Shift is from 5:45pm to 06:15am from Wednesdays to Fridays and every other Saturday.
*This is a contract opportunity with a major microchip company, located in Chandler, AZ. You will be a full-time VLS employee, once hired with full benefits. The end of the contract is December 31, 2026 with the possibility of renewal.
This position requires a technician that has the experience to support an Ultra-Pure Water System (UPW). The UPW technicians will be knowledgeable in reverse osmosis, deionized water, and ultra-pure water processes while being familiar with handling a full variation of chemicals and their pH makeup. Individuals should have general mechanical skills and be able to work with hand tools.
Job Duties
• Receive assigned Contingent Worker (CW) safety training and system specific training through the Infinity system.
• Conduct rounds and readings.
• Take chemical water samples and process the sample for results required.
• Operate and maintain industrial RO/DI/UPW treatment and purification systems, including biological treatment systems, which support our operations facilities.
• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance procedures as assigned Maximo.
• Maintain Analytical equipment.
• Utilizing quality systems and diagnosing process issues related to Reverse Osmosis, Filtration, Ion Exchange, Ultraviolet Light Sterilization, etc.
• Maintaining Analytical equipment and creating Statistical reports (Preventative Excursion Management Systems).
• Utilize Maximo Maintenance planning software.
• Utilize SCADA and Cimplicity control systems.
Requirements
The successful candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

Minimum Qualifications - The candidate must possess at least one of the following educational or experience requirements:
• Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in STEM or 3 years of experience in commercial water production.
• +1 year of Military Experience is considered in lieu of a degree with work experience in mechanical or wastewater system operations certification in respective fields.
• (UPW) +1 year of work experience in Reverse Osmosis and Water Treatment System operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• (UPW) Wastewater or Water Treatment certification or equivalent would be an added advantage.
• 1+ years of experience in (UPW) Reverse osmosis water treatment systems.
